When you're looking for a way to dispel the gloom of a grey January what better than an impromptu fashion show to brighten things up.
That's just what the ladies at Victoria Lane Fashions decided last month so they called in their favourite models, Jo and Linda and set about showing their customers the new spring and summer stock that came into store over the holiday period.
The girls were thrilled to get the chance to try on some of the stunning new designs from their favourite collections and even happier to be able to show them off in the intimate surroundings of Victoria Lane Fashions shop.
With a strong maritime theme running through the lovely new knitwear from the Faber and St James collections the girls modelled navy and white striped tops with touches of bright colour mixed with patterns for a modern twist to this traditional look.
Lucia and Rabe carried on the blue theme using stripes and prints in soft denim colours, mixed with light royal blue and dusty pink. Rabe also showed stripes in pinks and greys as a great alternative to the maritime colours.
Suits are back this year and the stand out garment here was the new zip jersey jacket, combined with trousers or a skirt to make a practical, comfortable and easy to wear outfit.
A fabulous early delivery from Georgedé gave the girls the opportunity to show some beautiful new shaped tops, in exclusive prints of blues, purple mixes and sharp black and white, teamed with a straight skirt. There was also a new silhouette for the traditional dress and jacket which the audience agreed would be fantastic for cruising, special events and holidays.
Sadly there is always a limit to the number of outfits that could be modelled but after the show everyone took the time to look at some of the clothes which had arrived from other top fashion collections.
Of particular interest were the outfits from H&O by Hudson, a British designer with some exciting ideas in easy to wear separates and occasion wear. Famed for their exclusive prints, teamed with co-ordinating plain and patterned fabrics, their garments create elegant outfits that won't break the bank.
At the end of the day everyone agreed it had been a super way to banish the winter doldrums.
