This month we squeezed in an extra fashion parade to show off our high summer collection.
It's something we haven't done before but it was a terrific success with more than 100 ladies attending during the two days. The glorious weather helped too as it put us all in the mood for wearing summer clothes.
We always get excited when the high summer colours arrive and this year our collection included summer tops, skirts and trousers, with shorts for the more daring, in a variety of hot and sultry colours.
Starting with pink or 'Re-think Pink' as we called it, we showed off coordinates in various shades from shocking pink to candy, which is having a fashion moment this summer. We then moved on to 'Caribbean Sea Colours' as the magazines are calling turquoise, mixed with white, navy or sand as a neutral base.
Tangerine teamed with cobalt blue made us all sit up and take notice, spreading the feel good factor and lifting the mood. Citrus brights of lime and yellow were shown with clashing colours of cerise and turquoise, enthusiastically received by many though others in our audience felt they might mix them with a more conservative navy and white.
A fabulous 'Statement in White' followed, emphasising that smart dressing in all white can be stunning and really sets the tone for holidays and hot summer days. But we didn't forget the very popular classic navy and white combination, always smart and flattering and will take you anywhere, at any time of the day.
Our audiences loved the cut-offs and ankle grazer trousers in bright summer colours from Robell, teamed with fantastic prints from Rabe and Gollehaug. Erfo's light weight cotton blouses in fabulous prints were also well received, picking out the summer colours of the Robell trousers.
This proved to be a very popular event with seats selling out well in advance of the shows. Maybe we should do it again next year?
