We always enjoy our fashion shows and our September collection were no exception.
Somehow we managed to fit more than 30 people into our shop, not once but four times and we exhibited more than 30 different outfits each show. Colleen, Jo and Linda, our lovely models, worked hard to ensure that everyone got a full view of the new autumn and winter fashions showing 11 outfits each, from smart casual to sophisticated day and event wear.
The seasons' basics are winter navy and varying shades of grey, with reds, magenta, cerise and bright blue as highlights. But at Victoria Lane we never forget our customers' favourites - pastels - and these were interpreted in icy hues of pale blue and pink mixed with winter white on grey basics, a soft contrast to our bright colour coding.
Our winter warmers come as duvet coats and jackets, reversible coats and striking knitwear to keep you warm, comfortable and fashionable. Again this seasons' basic colours are prominent but with some striking bright contrasts to ward off the winter blues.
Georgedé and Hermann Lange, the latter new to Victoria Lane this autumn, have some wonderful versatile outfits for day and evening in cobalt blue, purple and cream prints plus, of course, the magic of black and white.
There were trousers galore on display. Jeans are for everyone, whatever age or size and we showed a large selection ranging from classic denim in navy, grey and black to this winter's colours of red, wine, brown and stone. Also in the show were some exciting examples of smart casual trousers from Robell, Brax, Lucia and Michelle.
We were a little disappointed that there aren't many skirts in the autumn and winter collections. Luckily we found a couple of beautiful examples: a wonderfully panelled long-line skirt from Godske, available in ten different colours and a straight skirt with easy elastic waist in navy, grey, black and red, already a best seller from Lucia.
Our shows start with a glass of prosecco on arrival and conclude with a raffle, the proceeds from these shows being donated to Dogs for the Hearing. We are delighted to confirm that we raised an amazing £435 and some of our lucky customers went home with gorgeous prizes ranging from Victoria Lane gift vouchers to flowers and champagne.
All in all we showed a wide selection of clothes that represent the fashions we have in stock for the coming seasons. The shows were well received by our audiences who later spent time searching our rails for their particular favourites. Our customers are well aware that we only keep one or two of each size of any item and they need to get in fast to secure their chosen outfits.
We are sorry if you missed out on this season's shows. If you would like to join us next time please do get in touch and ask us to add you to our mailing list; you can do this via the contact page on the website or calling us on 01423 709 267.
